New investigations

It has been a while since I have written anything. That isn’t to say I have been idle, far from it! In the last year the gallery has closed, we have moved house, kids off to Uni, illness and all of this on top of a pandemic! Time for painting has been precious and has been dedicated to completing some very challenging commissions. (Thanks). My teaching has continued at a pace. Some exciting work is being produced along with some challenging weekend investigations into Abstraction or Plein air work.

Lockdown proved a time for investigation (see artwork) from which the chair, as the focus, has expanded my interest in how light/colour act as a representation of space. This has lead to my latest series of explorations into the way colour, when given greater importance over shape or form, leads to an enhanced perception and sense of space.
